Women’s bicycle race Mojokerto donate gold in POPDA XIV East Java

The Female Athlete of the Mojokerto City bicycle racing sports branch, Mila Safa Fidela, successfully won a gold medal in the Individual Road Race (IRR) number in the XIV East Java Regional Student Sports Week (POPDA) 2024 which took place in Bangkalan Regency.

The acting (Pj) mayor of Mojokerto expressed his congratulations and pride to the athletes who have fought in this activity.

“This gold is also the first gold for the city of Mojokerto in the biennial sports event held by the East Java provincial government,” he said.

He said, on this number Dela managed to win after covering a distance of kilometers in 43 minutes 19 seconds, outperforming its competitors from Sidoarjo and Probolinggo regencies.

He said, in addition to the gold medal from the sport of bicycle racing, previously the city of Mojokerto has also won 1 silver medal from the sport of pencak silat which was won by Aldi Rahmatullah.

“Then the bronze medal obtained by Satria Pancabudi Putra Widiansyah from dancesport, Tifanny Dwi Candaharu from petanque, Ryan Daniswara from rock climbing,” he said.

He said the bronze medal was also obtained by the women’s sepak takraw team consisting of Octa widya Yulianti, Carina Amalia Candoko and Nur Fadzila Ningsih.

“With the achievement of 1 Gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze, Mojokerto City is in the 25th position in POPDA XIV this time,” he said.

He hopes that the success of the students who competed in POPDA XIV and PEPARPEDA II this time will be a motivation for other students in the city of Mojokerto to continue to practice and develop their abilities in the field of sports.

In this prestigious event in East Java, Mojokerto city sent as many as 30 athletes who competed in 15 sports in POPDA and 15 athletes in 4 sports for PEPARPEDA.
