Malang City became the overall champion of the bicycle racing sport at the XIV East Java Regional Student Sports Week (Popda) 2024 which was held in Bangkalan Regency on 5 10 November 2024.
Malang City won 4 Gold, 2 Silver 2 bronze, the second position is Sidoarjo regency with 2 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze, the third poisis Lumajang Regency 2 gold and 2 silver.

Surabaya city had to settle for fourth place with 2 Gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Mojokero city placed fifth with 2 Gold. Batu City, Madiun City, Kab. Banyuwangi, District. Jember Kab. Poor thing, each get 1 Gold. The Total medals contested were 17 gold, 17 silver and 17 bronze.
Sugeng Trihartono, Technical Delegate (TD) of Popda XIV East Java Bicycle Racing Sport 2024 Sunday (10/11/2024) said, from preparation to the implementation of the bicycle racing match, it went quite well. Indeed, there are still many shortcomings, especially in BMX at the venue because it is quite expensive. “But we have tried to prepare the venue as best as possible with the existing budget. We hope that the bicycle racing athletes who compete in Popda 2024 are the best candidates for East Java athletes for larger events such as Porprov. I also hope that from this Popda East Java will not run out of stock of athletes for the regeneration of the upcoming PON preparation, ” he said.
