Lamongan Youth Sport Development and Strategic (YSS) sports institution is now starting to focus on exploring the potential of future bicycle racing athletes. As part of its efforts, YSS will hold an early age Cycling Championship.
In collaboration with Nana Sportswear, YSS will hold the mountain bike cross country (MTB XC) Cycling Championship at Gajah Mada Field on December 1, 2024. The Championship will compete in three age categories, namely 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 years old, and is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The head of the organizer, Dahlina Rosyida, in lamonga, Tuesday (5/11/2024) said that this event aims to be a breeding and coaching program for bicycle racing athletes in Lamongan, hoping to produce outstanding athletes in the future.
“Our main focus is to prepare future athletes who can compete in various championships, such as Porprov East Java and other regional championships,” said Dahlina.

YSS together with Nana Sportswear make 2024 as the beginning of efforts to explore the talents of bicycle racing athletes in Lamongan. The institute hopes that similar championships can be held regularly every year to improve the abilities of athletes.
“By regularly holding championships, athletes will be more honed in their abilities and mentality. They can also feel the atmosphere of a real competition, ” said Dahlina, who is familiarly called Nana.
Nana, a former national cycling athlete, hopes that in the future, YSS and Nana Sportswear can hold at least three championships each year. Both of these institutions also provide opportunities to collaborate with various stakeholders, such as the Education Office, Lamongan youth and Sports Office, and ISSI Lamongan, which has previously held a similar Championship at Jotosanur field.
With this collaboration, it is expected that more and more young Lamongan athletes are trained and ready to compete at a higher level.
