Cycling athletes again won silver and bronze medals

The Probolinggo Regency contingent again showed brilliant achievements in the XIV East Java Regional Student Sports Week (POPDA) event which took place in Bangkalan Regency, Saturday (9/11/2024).

In the race held at Jalan Raya Kembar Kalijambu, Mlajah, Bangkalan Regency, two bicycle racing athletes from Probolinggo Regency managed to add to the coffers of medals for Probolinggo Regency.

Diajeng Putri Ayu Sabila, a female bicycle racing athlete from Probolinggo Regency successfully won a silver medal in the women’s Criterium number. Meanwhile, Eza Raditya, a male cycling athlete, won a bronze medal in the men’s Individual Time Trial (ITT). Both of these achievements are a pride for Probolinggo Regency. At the same time adding to the record of achievement in the event attended by students in East Java.

Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Probolinggo Zainul Hasan also attended directly to the location of the match to provide support and encouragement to the athletes.

On the occasion, Zainul expressed his pride for the achievements achieved by Diajeng and Eza. He admitted that he was very proud of the achievements achieved by Diajeng Putri Ayu Sabila and Eza Raditya.

“Hopefully this achievement can be the first step to achieve even greater success in future events, especially in Porprov 2025. We hope this success can be repeated in the future Porprov event, ” he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Bicycle Sports Association (Issi) Probolinggo Fikri Syafi’i expressed gratitude and pride for the results obtained by the Probolinggo bicycle racing team.

In this East Java POPDA XIV event, Issi Probolinggo Regency sent four athletes, consisting of three male athletes namely Eza Raditya, Iqbal Maulana and Rahul and one female athlete, Diajeng Putri Ayu Sabila.

“Alhamdulillah, today we can add to our collection of medals with silver and bronze medals. Hopefully this achievement will be a motivation for other athletes to continue to fight and improve their achievements,” he said.
