Armstrong: Pogacar will still reign at TdF 2025

Lance Armstrong, the legendary racer from the United States who is phenomenal, commented after the Tour de France 2025 route was launched last week.

According to Armstrong, whose multi Tour de France title was revoked because of doping, Tadej Pogacar, UAE Team Emirates ‘ mainstay rider will still dominate this most prestigious cycling race next year.

In his podcast, The Move, Armstrong explained, a good driver will always be able to find a way to win. Whatever the route and conditions.

And according to him, Pogacar is the best cyclist at the moment. So when the TDF 2025 route was “designed ” to be able to block the dominance of the Slovenian, Armstrong disagreed.

Moreover, the race, which will be held in full in France, is more “light” than last year. The 2025 Tour de France is not difficult, the stages in the first week tend to be hilly and flat in favor of the sprinters. Then the first mountain stage just happened on stage 12.

It was also a mountain route that was not too steep compared to the previous year. The total elevation was cut by 1,500 meters.

Pogacar himself said the 2025 Tour de France would be tough. The Col de la Loze route will be re-routed. Last year, 2023, Pogacar subdued Vingegaard on this route.

“Climbing in the Alps is always tough. The stage on the Col de la Loze will probably be the Queen stage because that’s the height of the climb there, ” Pogacar said.

But this year, Pogacar showed absolutely no weakness. Each route and weather conditions it conquers well. Even the rivalry with Jonas VIngegaard was increasingly pointed.

Evidently, this year three champion crowns were achieved at once. Tour de France champion, Giro d’italia champion and elite men’s road bike world champion.

We will see a more intense feud between Pogacar and Vingegaard next year. Moreover, the TDF route is “rather friendly”.
